What’s up everyone here are the tech requirements! Don’t let this scare you away, we’re here to help you get the car where it needs to be. You would have to fail extremely hard to get turned away. We care about you and about your car, we want you on the track!
These are to keep everyone safe and the track healthy for years to come!
You may recognize this tech sheet being really close to our Washington neighbors at Villains Sports Land. We want to make sure everyone’s cars can drive both tracks! We have some cool ideas for the future…!
IDAHO DRIFT TECH REQUIREMENTS AND SAFTY RULES:
* IDAHO DRIFT STAFF will always have final decision.
* At the event organizer/staff’s discretion, any unsafe car and/or driver may be removed from the event at any time.
* THERE IS A HIGH-RISK OF CRASHING at the Motorplex at the Mill. Accidents do happen - please remember, this is drifting. We want you to push yourself but we want you to show up next time even more! Drive within your ability’s and please do your best not to dirt drop.
LIGHTING
* 1 head light, 2 tail lights and functional brake lights for all night driving required.
HELMETS
* Helmets must have a minimum DOT safety rating. Open face helmets are allowed unless the car has a cage then full face required
BATTERIES
* Your vehicle’s battery must be firmly mounted in the stock location with factory mounting hardware - or - remotely mounted firmly to the relocated position free of any slack or play
* Battery boxes are also acceptable as long as they are properly mounted.
* Battery cables and wiring must be properly tucked, No hanging wires, if it can get caught it needs to be tucked up. Zip ties are ok for tucking wires only
* Trailer straps, bunjee cords, belts, and zip ties will not pass tech at HBDF. (We will work with you on this) show up, we’re here to help you get were we need you to be
COOLANT SYSTEM
* Non factory turbo, pro charged, super charged or nitrous cars require water in coolant system only
* 2010+ factory coolant system coolant is ok
* Car must be free of leaks of any kind unless it’s dripping sauce, that shits encouraged!
FIRE EXTINGUISHERS
* fire extinguisher is required
* Plastic brackets will not pass tech.
STEERING/PEDALS
* Steering wheel and pedals must be firm and free of excessive play
SEAT BELTS/HARNESSES
* Factory seat belts must be in working order.
* Harnesses must be attached to a proper harness bar or roll cage.
* Harnesses bolted to the floor or strut tower will not pass tech
SEATS
* Seats must be rigidly attached to the floor of the vehicle with a minimum of (x4) 5/16” (8mm) or larger bolts.
ROLL CAGES
* Hard top / T top / Targa top vehicles do NOT require a roll cage to drive/tandem at HBDF.
* Convertibles are required to have a 4-point roll bar at minimum. 1.5” .095 DOM minimum. Bolt in roll bars are ok (We will work with you on this)
PETS
* Please keep your pets on a leash and waste cleaned up. If your dog is tied up and excessively barking, help him or her out. No one wants to hear your lovely pet freaking out. Please care to your pets
* Please respect the facility and your fellow drifter, pick up your trash and don’t leave bad tires but most of all have fun and drive hard!
RIDE ALONGS
* If your doing ride alongs same rules apply to your passenger side
* You need to provide a dot rated adult helmet open face is ok unless car is caged then full face required
* If your giving kids ride alongs you need a dot full face kid helmet
** Ride alongs are paid directly to drivers **
If your friends or family of the drivers ride along fees don’t apply to you, you get to ride along wherever you want. This will be something special for spectators that just came to watch, also a way to give back and say thank you to the drivers. Without the drivers and the spectators none of this would be possible. There will be a ride along time bracket in an open track layout. Drivers aren’t required to participate.
